Pepe Santana
Pepe Santana is an Ecuadorian born musician who has been sharing his knowledge of art, music, culture, history and traditions throughout New Jersey and the New York Metropolitan area for over 35 years. Pepe shares a rich history of diverse musical and cultural traditions through performances, lectures, workshops and educational presentations. These programs preserve and share the cultural traditions and history of music and traditions from the andes, spanning five countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.
Photos above were taken at a presentation at the Lodge at Thompson Park in Monroe, NJ. This program was presented by the Middlesex County Office of Culture and Heritage and the Folklife Program of New Jersey on June 3, 2017. The presentation consisted of a review and demonstration of the history of native Andean Music from Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador including several percussion, wind and string instruments.
