Raíces Branch of Community History

Join us virtually every other Tuesday at 7pm for our new Caribbean Culture & History Discussion Group. For each meeting, the group will be assigned a reading, viewing or an audio clip to discuss. All members are encouraged to submit a discussion question in advance of each meeting to encourage collaborative inquiry and dialogue.

ASSIGNED READING
Puerto Rico The Four-Storyed Country (pg 1-30) and The Writer in Exile, (pg 124-131) from Puerto Rico: The Four-Storeyed Country by José Luis González.

In our fall cycle we will be focusing on readings from the book Aftershocks of Disaster: Puerto Rico Before and After the Storm, edited by Yarimar Bonilla and Marisol LeBrón, as well as documentary films focused on different aspects of the effects of Hurricane María.
