DESCRIPTION Raíces seeks amateur and professional videographers and video editors to help document the programs, events, activities and history of the Raíces Cultural Center organization and create documentaries about topics related to our programing components, archival projects and the cultural traditions we seek to preserve. Videographers will receive a calendar of events and sign up to film those that fit their own schedule. Video Editors receive a list of current projects and editing tasks to choose from. A video editing station with Final Cut Pro software is provided in the Raíces studio for those who do not have access to their own editing software. Like photographers, volunteer photographers can also work more in depth on Raíces Cultural Archive projects, documenting the arts and cultural traditions of the Caribbean, the African Diaspora, the Indigenous community and our own local artistic and cultural community. REQUIREMENTS
We will provide training and guidance to any videographers or editors who do not have extensive experience in video production. All videographers must attend orientation meeting with Raíces co-directors to arrange any necessary training and choose an initial project. |
