Archive Assistant

DESCRIPTION
The Raíces Cultural Center Archive is a collection of books, articles, publications, audio and video recordings, images, artifacts, reference and resource lists and other research materials related to the history and evolution of the cultural traditions investigated in Raíces Cultural Center programming. The forthcoming Raíces Roots Online Archive will feature projects that make these materials accessible to the public for research, education and cultural exploration.

Archive assistants will sign up for one of the five initial projects in the Raíces Roots Online Archive and help to preserve the materials in that project by entering information, photographs, descriptions and links to further resources. May include light research.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to fill out and navigate online forms (Wordpress or similar experience is helpful)
  • Strong writing and typing skills
  • Ability to conduct internet searches to create resource lists
  • Interest in culture, cultural preservation and digital media technologies
TRAINING
We will provide training on how to use our online interface to enter information about materials being preserved in the archive.
