 Día de los muertosAncestors and Art Family Arts Day Presented by Family Arts Movement Saturday: November 5, 1-4 PM Join Raíces Cultural Center and Family Arts Movement on Saturday, November 5th to honor, remember and celebrate the ancestors through art. WHERE: First Reformed Church of New Brunswick 9 Bayard St. New Brunswick, NJ 08901 WHAT: Family Arts Movement will lead participants in hands-on arts and crafts activities in honor of the Day of the Dead. Come make offrendas, draw calaveras, plant Marigolds, create fabric crafts, make masks and learn about el día de los muertos/The Day of the Dead and the ways in which various cultures around the world honor and celebrate the ancestors through art. This event is part of the Raíces Cultural Center's 2011 Ancestors and Art program series and will be set against the backdrop of the Día de los muertos: Ancestors and Art visual arts exhibition. This program has been made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts; through a grant provided by the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission/Board of Chosen Freeholders. |
